This months old broadcast clearly and painstakingly questions the role of Akwa Ibom under Nigerian political and economic slavery.

Break it up! B11. 8/9/2017.Referendum for Akwa Ibom People’s Republic ( from the present AKS) Broadcast On 8/9/2017.

Referendum on Nigeria’s future.

Break it up for new strong and economically sustainable countries!

Nigeria is in political turmoil. Most Nigerians know this and it is reflected in their conversations, print, tv and social media. Threats and counter threats from major ethnic political groupings rent the air is this land. Northern groups with names like Arewa, Northern Youth Leadership Council and others claim to represent ordinary Northerners and don’t want to hear any thing about reform or restructuring. They are satisfied with the status quo which is derived from an undemocratic constitution written under the gun and supervised by Gen Sanni Abacha and other northerners sits well with them. For them, Nigeria is Eldorado! Man.

Southern groups like Oduduwa( who by the way have structured a future republic) Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB)- who have already declared a Biafra Republic and have had their leaders arrested and released,  Ijaw Youth Council, RONDEL( republic of niger delta)- a conglomeration of oil producing states, and others make demands ranging from restructuring to secession. Let me just say here, that all of this political activities are legitimate endeavors. The reflect the real tension in the land. They signify the dying throes of a phony constitution written by Gen Abacha to uphold Northern interests and suppress and rob ND of its natural resources.

Today for example, Mr Eric Omare, Chairman of Ijaw Youth Council in a statement accused the Fed Govt and Nigerian security agencies of failing to act against some well known Northern pressure groups who have written, propagated and popularized some pretty nasty and divisive anti- Igbo songs. These songs are directed against Igbo from the SE who live, raise their families, work and do business in Northern Nigerian states. Mr Omare in this press release said and I quote “  The IYC calls on southerns living in the north to be vigilant in the days ahead and warn that any attack on southerners in the north will be visited with commensurate response from southerners. The fed govt must know that considering the fragile state of the nation; Nigeria may not be able to survive inter regional, inter ethnic killings ” unquote. Incredible. Is this Nigeria the Nigerian we grew up in? What is happening in the country?

I, for one saw this coming. It has become clear that Nigerian must be broken up to prevent a Rwanda or a Somalia. This may sound alarmist bot please understand that people like me were dismissed earlier in those countries before the unpredictable storm that led to the demise of millions. I made a solemn promise recently to my self to speak out with all the fibers in my being to avoid the coming conflagration. How do you operate a country of 180mln people of different ethnicities with an illegal constitution written under duressin 1999 by soldiers from only one section or ethnic affiliation. A document that was designed to deny oil producing ethnic minorities their economic rights? How? For how long can you keep this charade of financially paying of so called Senators and politicians from the oppressed group to shut up and take it? For how long?

Back to the clamor by the well known pressure groups in Nigeria demanding fir their right. I only mentioned a few- there are many other active groups who are putting pressure on the fed govt to institute reforms that will finally benefit their various constituencies.

Is Something wrong with the picture and names of the dozens of agitating groups listed and unlisted above? Big – Yes! No one speaks for the #1 oil producer in the country AKS. Where are their leadership? Well, they are busy as has been the history of this group in Nigeria asking to belong as inferiors to other groups. I say, don’t do it. Don’t dishonor your masses who have suffered oppressed and environmental degradation from decades of oil production while your towns still look like bomber out villages. Stand up and fight like men and women with a purpose. Get up and take your place like others in this disintegrating Nigeria before the broken pieces fall on your heads. Like the Boys Scout Slogan: be prepared.

I boldly propose getting ready to announce the formation of a new great country culled from the present AKS- Akwa Ibom People’s Republic. This proposal will put Nigeria on notice that we are no more Mr Nice Guy. We have finally arrived and want to form our own country. You want to talk or negotiate with us, come to our new country for bilateral meetings and discussions. We are your equals and are shedding the yoke of political slavery! That is the recipe for present AKS . Think of this- pop of 4.6mln, deepest natural seaport in Nigeria(Ibaka), flat, rich fertile palm products agricultural land, peace loving people, some already built infrastructure etc. This will be more fun than fighting and reporting each other at the Uyo airport to fly and bow to masters in Abuja every day. That will now be over.  I will talk about mapping, borders, formation of prefectures and ad The hottest place in hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in the times of controversy.- Martin Luther King ministrative units, diplomatic and economic relationships with our neighbors and standing in the world community.

Power to Akwa Ibom People’s Republic !

Power to the great AI people!

Power to other Nigerians who support our cause.

Blessings to you and your families.

I am, Offiong Offiong Aqua. August 9, 2017

I am a civil, human and political rights activist. I chose to speak for the ignored and powerless. The Nigerian political scene is a jungle. Print and electronic media are owned by wealthy elites who irrespective of ethnicity and religion suppress public discourse of misgovernance, their political and economic ineptitude which has left Nigeria on it's knees. seeks to fix that. That is our aim. That is my life calling and purpose.
