BIAFRA DAY: Violence erupts in South-East

IT- The turmoil in Nigeria knows no end. The below stay-home order was not from Nnnamdi Kanu’s organization alone. Other groups are now signalling readiness to engage the Northern-elite led regime over the future of Nigeria. Akwa Ibom people who finance the Northern cabal with their resources cannot sit down and watch these political developments.

Violence erupted in parts of the South-East zone on Wednesday as security personnel embarked on massive crackdown of Biafra agitators who organised various activities to mark the Biafra Day.

The sit-at-home order recorded total compliance as banks, schools, markets and other usually busy centres in Aba were deserted.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State had said people who failed to come to work would be sanctioned.

But, the hitherto busy Nkwo Market Road in Umunze town, was deserted as the residents explained that their action was in sympathy with “our slain brothers who were victims of the civil war, Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen attacks and other killings in the country”.

I am a civil, human and political rights activist. I chose to speak for the ignored and powerless. The Nigerian political scene is a jungle. Print and electronic media are owned by wealthy elites who irrespective of ethnicity and religion suppress public discourse of misgovernance, their political and economic ineptitude which has left Nigeria on it's knees. seeks to fix that. That is our aim. That is my life calling and purpose.
